The Komodo is long lived (as are most of the larger reptilian species) with an estimated life expectancy of over 50 years in the wild. In keeping with its longevity, the Komodo matures late in life, becoming sexually viable at five to seven years, and achieving maximum body density in fifteen years. Komodos are sexually dimorphous, which means males are bigger than females. The largest recorded specimen was 3.13 meters in length and was undoubtedly a male. Females rarely exceed 2.5 meters in length. What is perhaps more important, is that the characteristic bulk is achieved by older dominant males in clearly delineated territorial areas. As an adult Komodo can consume up to 80% of its body weight in one gorging, weight is a highly variable factor, and is largely dependent on the most recent feeding. A typical weight for an adult Komodo in the wild is 70 kilograms.
Tour Itenary :
Pick up from your hotel in Bali and transfer to the airport, for flight to Labuan Bajo (West Flores) for approximately one and half hours. On arrival in Labuan Bajo will be welcome and meet by our local representative, direct transfer to the harbor to catch the local boat cross to Rinca Island for 2,5 hours. Lunch will provide on boat. Arrive in Rinca start your striking, walking through to the typical green forest to explore the wild Komodo Dragons and others wild animals (deer, pigs, monkey, buffalo and many kind of birds). A local ranger will lead you to this nature preservation. After trekking for approximately 2,5 hours, back to the boat. Dinner and overnight on boat or at Ranger Lodge.
Breakfast on boat. Than proceed to short sailing to Bidadari Island for swimming and snorkeling at the peaceful beach and unspoiled coral reef. After than, proceed to Labuan Bajo Harbor and directly transfer you to the airport to catch your return flight to Bali.
